Assalamu aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu sisters. I am looking forward to telling you my story.
I was born in Syria. When I was 11 years old, just a child, my parents have passed away so I became an orphan. I am the only child of my parents and after my parents’ death I lived with my extended family. While living with them I was subjected to violence, until they decided to marry me to an infidel at the age of thirteen.
I went through a lot during my marriage, especially being subjected to humiliation from my husband’s family. My life was very difficult and stumbling, but Allah subhanahu wa taala gave me sabr. Alhamdulillah for everything.
I decided to leave my infidel husband and my family was not happy with this, so they did not let me return to them. Therefore, I went to a camp for Muslim sisters. Me and my children went through very difficult times, days of displacement, poverty, cold weather and misfortunes. My children were very young. I made du’a every day for the safety of my children.
Allah ezzawajjal send me Muslim sisters who stood by me, who were empathetic with me. Inside the camp we were receiving food from humanitarian organizations but the tawagheet withdrew the support from the camp so the displaced people and refugees that were living there were starving. After the regime change, I returned home to my extended family, who married me once again, this time Allah subhanahu wa taala paved the way for me to find a true Muslim.
Allah subhanahu wa taala knows everything. He helped me to find a new husband, a true Muslim. I want my story to become a lesson of sabr to all the sisters that are going through difficult times.
Remember: „And we will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and the loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to be patient.” [2:155].
